There are 43 people in our immediate family on Peter's side and so it is understandable that it is not often that absolutely all of us manage to get together at once. The last time was for Ally and David's wedding in 2000. So yesterday was quite a remarkable occasion when we all got together to celebrate Peter's parents' 50th wedding anniversary. 50 years is quite a feat in this day and age, especially since Peter's dad, Norman, gave up his business the year Peter was born to live by faith and go about the Lord's business. And here they are, 23 grandchildren later, all pictured here except for Tom, who should have been at work but was very poorly in bed instead.
These are their nine children, in age order from youngest to oldest from left to right, Alison, Judith, Ann, Stephen, Peter (the problem middle child), twins Tim and Andrew, Helen and Gillian. It was so lovely to see them all together for once. Alison had come all the way from Qatar and Andrew all the way from Vancouver.
Before the eveining do in a hotel in Chester, we had a lovely day at Chester Zoo, all 42 of us. Norman and Ann zipped around the zoo on mobility scooters, surrounded by grandchildren wherever they went. We couldn't believe what a gorgeous sunny day we had for it; we couldn't have asked for better. I was in my element and got about 160 fab photos. It was hard to choose which ones to put on here. Congrats and happy anniversary again to my in-laws.
