Time out

Haggis, neeps and tatties! I think it could well be my new favourite food. This was my dinner last night in Edinburgh, where Peter and I have just been for a couple of days away.I was inspired to visit after having read this book and it turned out to be an excellent choice. We had a wonderful, much needed time of relaxation and even got to meet up with Helen, a friend from our teenage years and her two lovely daughters, for coffee in Harvey Nics and shopping in the rain.
One of the things the book inspired us to do, was to climb up Arthur's Seat ~ all 823 feet of it. Well actually, we did drive as far up as we could but climbing it was no mean feat, especially for Peter, who had sprained his ankle rather badly.
The day before, we had climbed up the Scott monument (287 steps up!) which gave spectacular views over the city.
Edinburgh is a great place to visit, definitely somewhere we would go back to. So lovely to have been away and yet still have two weeks off work :)
