Sunday was a day of great rejoicing: our "little" boy got baptized. I was so touched by presence of the friends and family members who came to share in it with us. Especially wonderful was the fact that abut 20 of Tom's school mates came, one of whom had been made to attend mass before he came, and did it, to be there for Tom. The very sight of them all made me cry. Gary gave a brilliant, clear gospel message and then Tom gave his testimony.
Then he was baptized, in the sheep dip, by Daren and Gary. He looked delighted as he came out of the water to his chosen hymn, "I cannot tell why He whom angels worship."Afterwards we shared lunch together in the church and it was great to see his that his friends stayed too. We then had a wonderful afternoon with the family back at home. Tom said that he was sorry that his Grandad Bob couldn't be there, as he knew he would have loved to see him baptized. We have double reason to be proud of him today. He has just learned that he is part of the Head Boy Team at school.
