Sometimes you just need to be in another place and I had an urge to go to the seaside. The sun was shining and I felt as if I hadn't had a change of scene for a long time. So we got out the map book and remembered Jen telling us about some bronze sculptures in the sea near Formby and decided to go and pay them a visit. We had lunch in Formby and then went down to the beach. It was sooooooooooooooo cold. Our faces were as numb as they are after a visit to the dentist. We found the sculptures at Crosby. There are 100 of them and they were sculpted by the same man who made the Angel of the North. This exhibition is called "Another Place". All the figures are modelled on the artist and all are looking out to sea. I loved that we caught this one with a seagull on his head.
Peter had a look out to sea with this one. We loved it, but couldn't stay too long because it was so ridiculously bracing. We went to warm up at Liverpool One. I'd like to go back there, maybe when it's warmer...
