22 again

I feel a bit like Eliza Doolittle when she sings, "Bed, bed I couldn't go to bed.." I have had such a lovely day for my "2nd 22nd birthday" as I prefer to call it. Chef Peter began the proceedings by making me this yummy breakfast. He has been a most impressive husband. Not only did he walk to the next village and back just to buy me a birthday card (he's not supposed to drive until later this week) but he bought me this PINK record player (good old internet shopping!)
I'm so excited about it that I haven't stopped smiling all day. I'd mentioned in passing how I would really love a record player and hey presto! Furthermore I have been allowed to listen to whatever I want all day without a word of complaint. A few grimaces maybe, but no compaints. I even got to listen to my beloved Faraway Folk album and Frida from Abba in Swedish.
Then we had a rather impromptu family gathering round the bbq with my Mum, 3 of Peter's sisters and his brother Stephen, Jon, Dan and 5 of our nieces. We had a most lovely evening. Ann had even baked me this scrummy birthday cake, which apparently contains half a jar of mayonnaise. Hannah and Ella wanted a turn at blowing out the candle.
Judith and Ally gave me some heart shaped presents, including this gorgeous candle holder.
Then Julie, Chloe and Jacob joined us for a while too. What a perfect day! Thanks to you all, especially to my lovely hubby xxx
Must go to bed. So much more vinyl to appreciate tomorrow :)
