Sometimes you wait, hope and pray for something for so long and then when it finally happens, you think "Eeeeeeeeeeek!" Peter has been waiting for back surgery for 3 years and 3 months; many of you have followed us on the roller coaster of appointments and disappointments and know that his promised February surgery date failed to materialise. When he rang to enquire about this, he was told that the only thing the appointments clerk could tell him was that it would be before the end of May!!! We had been here so many times that when an appointment for a pre-op came through for March 13th, we didn't get our hopes up. (We have lost count of the pre-ops and mri scans he has had so far.) But he has finally been told that his operation will be on March 26th. Now it all seems very real and very scary. Yet we know that it has to be done and we know that God is with us in it all.The pain is beyond description. It has changed our lives in so many ways. I'm looking forward to him being able to enjoy football again, and tennis, driving without pain, being able to walk with us, enjoying sitting in a restaurant or in the cinema, sitting beside me for a whole church service, so many things. My very own six million dollar man. :)
