Not the best of weeks

It has not been the best of weeks. First of all, we went to see the orthopaedic surgeon on Monday, only to find that he was off sick. The guy we saw instead was very discouraging about the operation, saying one third of people who have it see no improvement, one third get better and one third are actually worse afterwards. Furthermore, he said it has significant risks of bleeding, infection and paralysis. I'd gone with a mind to push for them to do this surgery and stop messing Peter about, but that took the wind out of my sails. He said the surgeon would look at Peter's scans on his return. (He's had them since November!!!) At the end of the week, we still have no news.
Then Peter lost his pda, which is also his wallet. To cap it all he got a flat tyre on his way home from down south and the tyre just wouldn't come off. So he called the AA, only to be told his company hadn't included his car on their cover. (The next day it transpired that he was covered!) So there he was, bless him, stranded with a flat tyre, no wallet and therefore no plastic or dosh and unable to get home to us.
To cap it all, I woke up this morning with no voice. Mind you, maybe that's the only good thing that's happened to Peter all week......
