A strange Christmas

Christmas Day wasn't quite what we had planned....We always look forward to the Christmas morning service at church, not least because it was 6 years ago on Christmas morning that we decided to take up the invitation on a leaflet which had come through our door and go to the Christmas Day service at WHBC. That was how we discovered this gem of a church on our doorstep and we've never looked back since. Peter was particularly lopking forward to playing the piano on Christmas morning and had left ahead of us. As it happened, he sat at the piano stool, turned to talk to someone and felt a shooting pain right down his back and legs. He rang me and told me to stay at home because he was being brought home. And that was that. He spent most of Christmas Day on the living room floor, occasionally making it to the sofa.

We were supposed to be spending Christmas Day at Peter's parents' with two of his brothers and one of his sisters and their families. In the end we decided that Tom, Anni and I would go and then bring his dinner back for him.

Later on, Tim and Marianne came over to see Peter, which was lovely. So although it was lovely for us to see everyone, Peter missed out.
