Hurray and hurrah for Chris, the BT engineer who finally got to the root of our month long broadband saga and not only got me back online but also got rid of the funny noise on our phone line. I've so missed my blog. And there is so much to report. I think I will do this in several posts. First of all, the ugly monstrosity that was our porch is now no more! It was demolished last Thursday and I miss it not. Even though we do have to leap over a trench (that was a moat at one point) and balance rather precariously to open the front door. It's all very exciting! So far it looks like this....
Not a great improvement yet but at least we know it's on its way.

Funny thing happened on Wednesday, when we ventured to Liverpool to get Anni a fast track passport. It will be delivered by courier and they asked if we had our own personal letterbox....erm, actually, not at the moment no...
We decided to eat in a local restaurant when we got home because it was already 7pm. After we'd eaten, the waitress announced that every Wednesday they put all the table numbers into a lottery without telling them... I was just about to interject that we didn't gamble when she said that we had won, which meant that everything on our bill was free of charge. How nice was that?
The builders haven't shown up today, but the BT engineer kind of makes up for that.
