This was Anni's first day at high school. She needed size tiny in everything. She was up with the lark and bounded out of the door with great enthusiasm.Long may it continue!
It was also our first school morning without Nana and Grandad (as we now leave at the same time.) No more breakfast on a tray and second cup of tea for Anni!
It was also my first morning with my new boss. First impressions are very good beacuse
(a) she has a strong northern accent (has to be a good thing) and doesn't try to hide it.
(b) she held our attention completely for the whole time she was speaking.
(c) she had even the hardened cynics nodding in agreement (some of whom I have never seen nod before.)
(d) she seems to be one who celebrates what is good but makes no bones about what needs changing.
(e) she stayed in to listen to the things everybody else had to say.
