One of the loveliest people I ever met died yesterday.
Gail was the mother of my just as lovely sister-in-law, Dee and she died because her foot got caught in the pedal of her bicycle and she banged her head as she fell. It all seems so crazy.
She was beautiful, gentle, cheerful, caring and generous. She hardly ever sat down, she was the better sides of Martha and Mary rolled into one. Whenever I envisage her, she's always smiling. I never saw her without a smile on her face.
It's hard to believe that we'll never see her again this side of heaven. But I'm thankful that we will see her again one day. I'm also thankful that Dee was over in South Africa with her when she died, it would have been so much worse for her to hear news like that from the other side of the world.
It is the first time my children have ever lost someone they loved.
