Row, row, row your boat

I can't believe it has been over a year since we saw our dear friends Dave and Davina! We had a visit planned before Christmas, which we had had to postpone due to the chaos with the building work. We finally made it down south to see them on Friday. After a long evening of catching up, a very late night and a lie-in, we spent Saturday afternoon rowing on the canal. Such fun!
Davina and I were rowed by Dave most of the way. Whilst Anni and Gemma took turns rowing with Peter.
Anni had her best concentration face on.
Nathan went solo in a canoe.
I learned that I am spectacularly bad at rowing. I blame my shoulder injury.
Having said that, it was good for the stomach muscles, but the laughter was even better.
After that we went to my happy place, the Pack House. A beautiful place full of lovely housey things.
Anni enjoyed lots of cuddles with Twiggy the cat over the weekend. She was highly amused when Twiggy slapped her several times across the face...just with her paws not her claws.
And she loved catching up with the girls she has known all their lives. We were reminiscing about how we used to be able to transport them, still sleeping, from the car to the bed when we arrived at one another's houses. Now they tell us they were only pretending to be asleep.
Such a lovely weekend...I hope we don't leave it another year until the next one.
