January brings the snow

Loving the snow! Not least because we were sent home from work on Friday morning, which was especially welcome at the end of a long and very hard week. I loved our cosy day at home. Did not love so much that Peter had an altercation with the kerb in the ice, which even at 5mph meant his car being towed away :-( We had a lovely night out watching Les Miserables, which I had never read not seen before and loved.
Today we went sledging with my sils and bil and nieces and nephew in the park behind their house and had such enormous fun, even if I couldn't feel my fingers or toes at all by the end of it.
I have to admit, in all my 47 years I had never been on a sledge, so my fun was from behind the camera.

Watching everyone else have a hoot.
But eventually I was bullied into having a go and it was AMAZING!
I had been put off snow based activities after going on a school ski trip in 1992, and losing my bottle at the top of a mountain. I ended up having to be brought down on piggy back by the ski instructor. A bit embarrassing since I was a teacher on the trip! But today I overcame one of my fears, thanks to my lovely niece, Laura, for coming down with me first time.
A fab afternoon, and much needed after the week we've had...

That looks like awesome fun Lol. Been thinking of doing something similar myself soon and hope to go tubing in early February as my knees probably won't cope with skiing or snowboarding :-(
