Goodbye to a much loved place

One of the things I was looking forward to in Cornwall, was a visit to my favourite attraction, The World In Miniature. Peter and I first went there on our honeymoon in 1989, revisited it in 2000 with the kids and Stephen and then again in 2005 with Ann & Jon, Hannah and Ella. It was one of those places that is so bad it is good. Here we are on our last visit in 2005. But horror of horrors...the signs were taped over and where it has once been was now a flattened site, promising to be a caravan park. I was absolutely gutted. Never again will I stand in front of a model Statue of Liberty.
Only to find myself seconds later standing in front of the Sphynx.
There will be no more Diana poses in front of the Taj Mahal. So what has happened to all the artifacts? Peter and I would have loved to resuurect Easter Island in our back garden.
Imagine the tower of Pisa by our pergola!
Or the Sphynx by the front door......
I will miss riding on the most unlifelike horse ever in the western town.
The White House model would have been great on the front lawn.
But sadly, we missed out. I would dearly love to know what happened to everything. I really hope they didn't just demolish them all. World In Miniature, I will miss you :(
