I am back to earth with a great big bump after our 3rd annual SILs' weekend away at Jollydays. As always it was just wonderful; soooooo relaxing. Each year we have upgraded, from bell tent to luxury lodge tent and this time to deluxe. When we arrived on Friday evening, this was the welcoming sight of our weekend home. Dee had arrived ahead of us, unpacked the shopping, prepared dinner and lit the fire for us. (Love that girl!)
For the first time, it rained almost all weekend but it really didn't matter. We had brollies and wellies and a lovely warm fire. Another first was that we left the site for dinner on Saturday evening, which meant even less cooking and washing up. We braved the local pub in our team hoodies.
We had a wonderful Saturday with a long and lazy morning in our pjs, reading magazines. We could get used to this and all said how welcome a whole week of it would be.
We were grateful for the wood burner in the middle of the tent.
The tent was less Cath Kidston and more Orla Kiely this time, all very green themed.
This is the sight of relaxed women, having spent two days chillaxing without men, children, music or television to invade our peace and two nights listening to the rain beating down on the tent and the wind rustling through the woodland.
One tradition we did not break was the visit to beautiful York on the way home.
The only downside of being in York is that it signifies that our glamping trip is almost at an end. Ah well, roll on Glamping 2013!
