Even at 18 and 16 our children were very excited that Father Christmas had been. They set their alarms to wake us up at 8am and Tom was leaping around like a crazy person from the planet Madness. This year they had asked to be surprised and they said it was so much more fun. This year our Christmas dinner guests were my sil and bil Ann and Jon and our nieces Hannah and Ella, nephew Danny and of course my mum.
Peter did absolutely everything for Christmas dinner; all I did was make the cranberry sauce and prepare the sprouts. Believe it or not, Hannah and Ella love sprouts.
The one other thing I made was the name tags for the Christmas table.
And we fared sumptuously, Tom in his Christmas sleeveless jumper, for which he had made a special request.
Danny in his Christmas shirt and the girls clad from head to toe in purple, matching my Christmas table theme.
Ella showed me how it's done with my new Abba You Can Dance game. She told my mum, "You should be very proud of Aunty Lol, she's a great dancer," an accolade which I can say with certainty has never been given to me before in all my born days.
Then for the evening, we went over to Grandma and Grandad's house to catch up with more familial peeps. Love this pic of Ally and Erin, on skype to Uncle Andrew in Vancouver.
Erin got into her pyjamas before coming here for the night, so Anni decided to don her Christmas pjs and join her. Our two little Mellish girls...
We had such a lovely day.
