Yesterday Anni and I ventured across to Haworth with Jenny, Jess and Ella, for Beth's bridal shower; a journey which went smoothly until we came to the end of a narrow road only to be met with a no entry sign. Since there was nowhere else to go, we opted for going that way anywhere, whilst avoiding eye contact with other drivers. It worked for us and got us to our cake laden destination.
It was a lovely occasion, with pretty tables strewn with hearts and petals and laid with Victorian style paper plates.
It was lovely to catch up with Beth's future sisters-in-law, Hannah and Abi, now that we have lost Abi to her nursing course in Nottingham. The Winterley contingent, known as "Josh's people" had their own table.
And Beth was showered with presents......and was dressed up, rather exquisitely, I thought, in a wedding dress made from toilet roll.
A lovely afternoon and well worth the journey. Now we are looking forward to a wedding in December (or two).
