A Perfect Day

For a long time I have wanted to visit Delamere Forest, but as you know, the rest of my family do not share my enthusiasm for the great outdoors. So when Julie suggested the forest as a venue for our joint family day out, I was delighted. The forest did not disappoint.
I even found a lovely woodland throne!

It was so nice to spend some quality time, walking and talking with good friends and it was a first outing for my new wellies. Although Peter is disturbed at my hankerings for a "proper outdoor coat".
Jacob and Tom, who always amuse me when they walk side by side, happy in one another's company, poles apart in height, immediately found walking sticks which made them resemble Gandalf, without the whiteness or the beards.
Then, as a perfect end to a perfect day, we had my bil and sil, Ste and Dee to dinner, with another lovely friend whom we don't see enough of, Dee's dad Graham , from South Africa. We had a long, leisurely ploughman's dinner and thoroughly enjoyed catching up and putting the world to rights, while Erin thoroughly enjoyed catching up with the Polly Pockets and her big cousin Anni. Long may the Easter hols continue...
