Messing about by the river, well the canal really

I love Fridays, especially since we, as a department, decided to start going out for lunch at the local café by the canal. Sometimes, as a teacher, you spend far too much time indoors and I know that I feel instantly better once I've breathed some fresh air into my lungs. Even though it was a bit chilly today, we insisted on sitting outside and making the most of the outdoors while we can. It's a great little place. I phone our order through at break and it's all ready for us when we arrive. Today, due to illness and the death of a beloved cat, it was just Aurelie, Sean and me. Sean has a flute, which he randomly takes out of his pocket and plays. He does it in the staff room or down the corridors.

Some fellow diners from school asked us to take him away.

Here he is doing his impersonation of "Badly Drawn Boy". Friday lunchtimes are a much needed hoot. A time to forget CVAs, VAK, AFL, PDRs and all the other acronyms that plague us. Vive le weekend!
