This evening we went out to Tom's favourite restaurant to celebrate his 16th birthday, since on his actual birthday I'd been in the middle of inspection frenzy and he'd been in the middle of exams. And what are the chances of this? We walked into the restaurant only to find our friends Dave, Debbie, Becki, Abi and John also about to sit down for a meal there! So we got them to put our two tables together. (Which actually seemed to be a very difficult request for the staff to comprehend for a while.)
And we had a most pleasant evening, even if my daughter did seem to have composed her outfit completely out of my wardrobe! In fact we were having such fun, we forgot to sing happy birthday to Tom and he was too busy enjoying himself to notice!
