Car making funny noises

This is my tyre from the rear driver's side! I just drove into Nantwich to get my GCSE results and my laptop and on the way home the car started making funny noises. Arriving at Slaughter Hill, it was juddering and cranking and I decided I really ought to stop and check it out. On leaving my vehicle, the first thing I noticed was a pile of shredded black rubber on the floor and then I saw this! I couldn't believe my eyes.
It never ceases to amaze me though, how God cares for every little detail in my life. He knows how absolutely useless I am when things like this happen. Panic mode overtakes me and I tend to stand, stare and say "Oh!" and do nothing. So He sent this "angel" in the guise of a man just leaving for a day out with his family from the house opposite. He beckoned me to pull into the layby and kindly informed me that my tyre had blown. Oooops! He also told me it was almost completely bald. Double ooops! Then he just asked for my jack (good job I knew what one of those was) and promptly got stuck into putting on my spare. (Good job I stopped to check out my last lot of clanking the other week and managed to rescue my spare tyre when it fell off in the road). If God hadn't sent this kind family, I might still be there saying "Oh!"
I'm also thankful that it happened where it did and at the speed at which it did.
Why only yesterday my brother-in-law's first words to me, on our first meeting since his return from working in Thailand for 2 years went something like this:
"You are the embodiment of all the things they say about women drivers."
"Why?" I asked bewildered.
"Your parking," he said.
"What's wrong with my parking?" (It was, granted, a bit wonky, but it was in the driveway and didn't seem to matter.)
"It is betwixt and between!" I was informed.
I guess there was a reason why it took my 5 attempts and 10 years to pass my driving test.
Better get that car checked over.....
