Signs of senility

I was chatting with my friend and colleague Helen, who had just returned from a rather splendid school trip to Montreux and had missed our headmaster's retirement party. I was telling her who was there on Sunday and she was expressing surprise that it was Sunday becuase she could have been there then. Furthermore when she did get home, she had heard all about it from Margrit. I was adamant it had been on Sunday; Helen was convinced it had been on Saturday. We came to the conclusion that he must have had two "dos", one on Sunday and one on Saturday. I commented how bizarre it was to have had some of the same people at both.
After this conversation had continued for several minutes, Helen said, "Wait a minute, didn't you go to church on Sunday then?"
"Oh yes, I did........" Ahhhh! That means it must have been Saturday, as indeed it was. First sign of senility.
Secondly, on my way home from aforementioned "do" I made a mental note to text Laura and tell her to pick up my sunglasses as I had obviously left them there............then I found them........on my head.
I came in to feed Barthez (the cat) and dutifully tore the top of his whiskas sachet.....and served it carefully into the bin!!!!!!!! I rescued it (it had only landed on a crisp packet) only to reserve it into his drinking water. Dooohhhh! Maybe it's the sun.
