Every time I looked up a new word on my online German dictionary today it gave me a completely random quote that was totally unrelated to that word. It amused me so much that I ended up looking up words I already knew. These were my favourites:

"Some people's mouths work faster than their brains. They say things they haven't thought of yet."
Wilcox's Law: "A pat on the back is only a few centimetres from a kick in the pants"
"No guest is so welcome in a friend's house that he will not become a nuisance after three days" Titus Maccius Plautus.
