Saturday was picnic time for Mother and me. We went to an open air Kate Rusby concert at Gawsworth Hall. It was such a perfect evening for it, still warm and sunny, but no longer sticky hot. Gawsworth is such a beautiful backdrop for a gig. We sat for an hour in the grounds, surrounded by picnickers, before moving to our seats in the auditorium.
This was my fourth Kate Rusby gig, my second at this venue. It was especially wonderful because she has released a new album to celebrate 20 years in the music business, with remixes of her old songs, featuring guest vocalists. (It is beautiful). So it was lovely to hear lots of songs I know and love.
Her Irish husband is a delight to the ears with his different guitars, banjo and lovely Irish lilt.
It was a perfect evening. Just wish Peter shared my taste in music...
