As some family members have gone away, others have come home and on Sunday we got to catch up with my bil and sil Ste and Dee and my niece Erin. Having Erin around is like having little Annabel all over again. She made the most of her last chance to play with Tom for a while.
Tom had to say his goodbyes for a while to his aunts and uncle, who very kindly brought him a bag of goodies to help him survive his first week in Scotland, along with the reassurance that he will be able to catch up with Uncle Ste when he is up in Edinburgh on business.
Then there was one last photo with Erin. Tom is well loved by his little cousins. My niece Hannah was horrified last weekend when I told her he was moving to Edinburgh. She wore her very best tragic face and asked, "Forever?" and was not comforted by the answer, exclaiming "For four years???!!" I think I might be wearing my very best tragic face come Sunday afternoon...
